In the Bajoh district, education is extremely important amongst locals. Many parents in the area invest their life savings into providing a better education for their children.
However, many students cannot commit too much time to their studies because of the water-related demands in their lives. Once students come home, many have to travel long distances to fetch water for their family’s cooking, cleaning, and drinking needs. In the classroom, many students miss class due to water-related illnesses, dehydration, or sanitation-related problems.

Want to do something about it? We’re still running our Together campaign to support clean water for 11,000 people before the end of the year. Join us.
Destine and Celestine lose 720 hours of school time per year fetching drinking water for their classmates. They also frequently miss class due to water-related illnesses. Many children in the area drink water from the wrong sources due to a lack of sanitation education.
With an accessible, clean water source and santiation education, students can spend more time on their studies and less time debilitated by a lack of clean water. Learn about how Water Collective’s programs contribute to education at www.thewatercollective.org
