On Friday, pipes were being transported to Lokando, but had to be dropped off miles away from the village because the delivery truck could not handle the difficult terrain of the roads.

Much to our surprise, men, women, and youth left Lokando Saturday morning to walk miles to carry the pipes back to their village one by one. We’re lucky to be working side by side with such inspiring communities. (at Lokando II, Cameroon)

Despite living in a remote area with impassable roads, Mrs. Marie was able to secure cassava processing machines to boost crop quality and the selling power of women farmers. Her ambitious is endless, with plans to open a health center with strong maternity care, and to bring clean water to her village.

Do you remember where you were in 2002? What were your hopes and goals for your future more than a decade ago?

In 2002, a small village named Elah made a commitment to find clean, accessible water for its community of 300 people. However, without the support and guidance needed to build a water system, Elah still does not have clean water 11 years later.

To this day, Elah has experienced little growth, continuing a cycle of poor health and economy due to a lack of clean water. Can you imagine not having the opportunity to grow and progress in 11 years? With you, we are going to change that for Elah.

We want to end Elah’s water crisis for good and give opportunity. Opportunity for better health, economy, and a brighter future.
